Hurrah! Photoshoot photos have arrived!

25 Jan

As you all know earlier this month I did a photo shoot with the lovely Sarah Lauren Photography and Laura Hingston Floristry (bouquets and buttercups)

The photos arrived late on Sunday so I just had to share….

Also I have now added some of my favourite wedding blogs over on the right (including Sarah’s) so check them out if you are stuck for ideas…

Wedding Fayres & Website

15 Jan

Afternoon everyone!

It’s my first weekend with no cakey stuff to do (apart from the dreaded paperwork) so I am relaxing by cooking masses of curry and soup in my attempt to become a sylph-like lady. When you’re surrounded by cake its not easy you know!

As you are all aware myself, Bouquets and Buttercups and Sarah Lauren Photography all collaborated on a photoshoot last weekend. I have only seen a few of the photos so far but I am sooo excited about the others.

Here are a couple of the pictures from the shoot, there are more on my Facebook page and there will be more next week

So, now we can start looking forwards and I have booked most of the wedding fayres for spring.

The first one is on Sunday 30th January at the Barcelo Imperial, Torquay. 11am – 4pm. It’s organised by the West Country Wedding guide who I have also put a full page profile on – let me know what you think.

The next show is on Sunday 13th February (so for all of you hoping for a proposal Valentine’s weekend this is really one to keep in mind!) at The Fairwater Head Hotel, Nr Axminster, which is a newly renovated pretty country hotel on the Devon / Dorset border.

I hope to see you there and will post details of the later ones in a later post.

Now it’s time for you to do some work! I am about to update my website ( and I want you to tell me what you like and dislike about it. What you think needs to change and any other features you would like to see included. I look forward to your comments

Speak to you all later

Princess Castle Cake

3 Jan

This was a tricky cake as was produced with only a couple of days notice and was made from Carrot Cake. It’s a bit too soft a cake to acheive a really crisp result when making shaped cakes but I quite like the soft and wobbly edges to the cake. It seems to make it more cartoon-esque; like a friendly, squishy princess castle (that tastes completely yummy too!)

Christmas and the New Year

2 Jan

Evening All

So finally the craziness of Christmas and New Year is done for 2010. I hope you all had a fabulous time and enjoyed all the festive goodies! I was extremely busy with Christmas cakes, including Gluten-Free and Dairy- and Gluten-Free cakes, for a couple of my clients with specific needs. If you do have any special dietary requirements when it comes to baking just let me know and I am more than happy to discuss them with you and I am sure we can sort something that will still taste and look gorgeous.

Today has been spent planning out a joint photoshoot next week that I am doing with Sarah Lauren Photography and Bouquets and Buttercups. We are using The White House in Callington as a beautiful backdrop. I am so looking forward to it

Dont forget to check out my Facebook page which has lots of new photos of the latest party cakes. There are also loads of new bits and pieces I am working on and hopefully I can reveal these soon. Keep your eyes peeled!
